After World War II, Korea was divided up between the United States and Soviet Union. It was split because Russia was trying to take of Korea. The two nations differed in political and economical makeup by the Soviet Union supporting communist control of North Korea and the United States supporting democracy in South Korea. The Soviet Union supported the North Koreans by giving technology and strategy support and also providing supplies. The United States aided the South Koreans. On July 25th, 1950 North Korean forces came across the 38th parallel creating two surprise attacks on South Korea.
In September 1950, the North Koreans pushed as far as the perimeter of Pusan.The tide of the war changed by the United Nations going into Korea to help protect them. The United States troops pushed the North Koreans into Pyongyang. China soon felt threatened and sent 300,000 troops into North Korea. The three major battles of the Korean Conflict was the Gojasean period, the Three Kingdom Period, and North-South states when Silva succeeded in conquering battle. In July 1953 the war ended with the result of armistice. Today, North Korea is a communist and South Korea is republic.
